The National Renewable Energy Laboratory
(NREL) located at the foothills of the Rocky
Mountains in Golden, Colorado is the
nation's primary laboratory for research,
development and deployment of renewable
energy and energy efficiency technologies.
NREL's Chemical and Materials Science
Center has an immediate opening for a full
time OPV Postdoctoral Researcher. This
assignment is for one year with possible
renewal for up to three years.
Job Duties
Conduct both fundamental and applied
research on new
materials and new designs for organic
photovoltaic cells.
Measure and interpret semiconductor
properties, prepare
thin films and devices, and optimize
components and cell
design for high efficiency. Collaborate with
researchers of
diverse backgrounds (physicists, chemists,
spectroscopists, engineers, and technicians)
in multi-
disciplinary project teams. Document
research progress
and work with senior staff to publish and
present key
finding in peer-reviewed journals and at
regional and
national scientific meetings. Duties also
include attention
to environmental safety and health issues.
Required Education and Experience
Must be a recent Ph.D. graduate with in the last
three years.
Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D. in Chemistry, Physics, Materials
Science or
a related field. Candidates must have a
strong
background in organic semiconductors and
organic photovoltaics. Ability to work well in
a
team or independently with limited
supervision is
critical.
