Thermo Heraeus Labofuge 400 R refrigerated centrifuge (product number: 75008164, catalog number: NC9401528) complete with swing bucket rotor (4X180 mL) p/n NC9401529, adapter for 7X7 mL blood tubes (catalog number 750 008 188) and 180 mL round bucket p/n NC9401531. New in July of 2006.
Thanks to an extensive range of rotors and accessories, the Labofuge 400 R can be used for practically all separations tasks: from highspeed centrifugation in microliter rotors to gentle sedimentation of animal cell cultures in "Falcon®-type" tubes. Due to its new air cooling system, the unit is extremely quiet (less than 58 dB). The versatile swinging bucket rotor can accommodate round buckets or special cyto buckets. Like all other Heraeus products, the sealed buckets have been certified for biocontainment by the Centre for Applied Microbiology and Research at Porton Down, U.K.
A microprocessor-controlled protection system prevents samples from freezing. For example, if samples are kept in the closed rotor chamber for an extended period of time after centrifugation, there is no danger of freezing despite standstill cooling.
