Background
Fundamental research within the scope of cell biology,
structural biology, soft matter and (bio)-nanotechnology is
increasingly focusing on understanding interactive biological
processes, pathways and structures at the macromolecular level.
Transmission electron microcopy (TEM) is of paramount
importance to obtain high magnification and high resolution 2D and 3D
information of cells and organelles or even smaller cell constituents.
A prerequisite for optimal 2D and 3D-tomographic imaging is a high
level of microscope automation and intelligence. The Tecnai G² Spirit builds

Features
The easy-to-use Tecnai G² Spirit is
designed to ensure high-quality images and facilitate the work of the
microscope user. The Tecnai G² Spirit has a
high level of automation without limiting full user control. The
microscope has embedded automation such as automated tuning of the gun
or illumination, and automated (or manual) alignment, saturation and
conditioning of the electron source. Automated tuning for focus and
astigmatism is also available. Automation functions are fast and
convenient, lowering the threshold for new users, and helping to secure
quality results. Tecnai G² Spirit is ready
for new applications like 3D-imaging using tomography (with Xplore3D)
and/or cryo-electron microscopy.
