Dental Composite Based on Polyhedral Oligomeric Silsesquioxane - New Product

Pentron Clinical Technologies have introduced the first commercial dental product based on polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane or POSS.

The product named Nano-Bond Universal Bonding System is a nanoparticulate reinforced adhesive. The resin infiltrates etched surfaces and provides a strong bond between the tooth and dental restorative material.

The kit includes a unique etch primer and adhesive system that work together and provide excellent bonding to dentin and cut enamel. Also included in the kit is a dual cure activator which promotes reliable bonding to self and dual-cured materials.

The POSS materials used in Pentron’s Nano-Bond are supplied by Hybrid Plastics.
