Particle Size Analysis
PTL has a wide range of particle size instrumentation to ensure each sample is analyzed using the most appropriate technique. Particulate can be measured from several nanometers to several millimeters in size, with the potential to also determine the particle concentration.
Laser Diffraction
Measures particle size of liquids or powders using a wet or dry suspension on a volume basis.

Electrozone
Coulter Counter Technique/Electric Sensing Zone analyzes liquids and powders in an electrolyte suspension. Statistical Analysis on a volume, number and particle concentration basis.

Photozone/Light Obscuration
Single particle optical sensing instrument. Counts and sizes each individual particle. Can obtain volume, number and concentration information.

Photon Correlation
Particle size of nano-sized particles measured on an intensity basis.

Shape and Size Particle Analyzer

Sieve Analyses
Measures particle size of dry powders on a weight basis by passing through a stack of sieves. Typically for large material >45 microns (USP<786>)
