Volkwagon and Israeli Nano Start-Up In Co-Operation - News Item

Volkswagen has begun a trial joint cooperation with Israeli start-up Nano Materials. Nano Materials is developing materials of the future for use in engines, gears and transmission systems. These materials can be self lubricating so that oil would not need changing and part would need replacing less often.

Nano Materials was set up less than 2 years ago based on the findings of Prof. Reshef Tenne, of the Weizmann Institute's Nanomaterials Synthesis Group. Tenne had used nanotechnology to develop dry lubrication materials.
