Bruker
Optics, part of the Bruker Corporation (NASDAQ:BRKR) is the leading
manufacturer and worldwide supplier of Fourier Transform Infrared, Near Infrared
and Raman spectrometers for various industries and applications.
Bruker entered the field of FT-IR spectroscopy in 1974. The early instruments
set new standards in research FT-IR with evacuable optics, high resolution and
automatic range change. Since then, the product line has been continuously
expanding with instruments suitable for both analytical and research
applications with exceptional performance characteristics.
Today, Bruker Optics offers FT-IR, NIR, Raman, TD-NMR,
TeraHertz spectrometers and imaging spectrographs for various markets and
applications. Bruker Optics has R&D and manufacturing centers in
Ettlingen, Germany and The Woodlands, USA, technical support centers and sales
offices throughout Europe, North and South America and Asia.
The successful investigation and prosecution of crimes requires; the
collection, preservation, and forensic analysis of evidence. Forensic analysis
of evidence is important to demonstrate guilt or innocence. From investigation
of fraud to more serious crimes such as murder; Bruker
Optics offers state of the art spectroscopy systems to help forensic
scientists.
Infrared and Raman spectroscopy is a widely used technique in Forensics
Science, which provides fast, accurate and reliable sample analysis to help
investigations by narrowing search and identifying evidences. Infrared and Raman
microscopy can be used for small samples in non-destructive analysis. Spectral
libraries can help identify the materials analyzed or distinguish the match
between materials.
Bruker
Optics offers a full range of sample analysis products to meet even the most
demanding forensic applications. The TENSOR™ 27
is a rugged low-cost infrared spectrometer for the routine forensic sample
analysis. Automatic accessory recognition of Bruker's integrated and dedicated
accessories make the analysis quick and easy. Full diagnostic monitoring of the
spectrometer ensures that the highest level of instrument functionality is
maintained. For samples less than 1 mm in size, Bruker
Optics has infrared and Raman microanalysis products from the low cost and portable HELIOS™ to
the full imaging capabilities of the HYPERION™
3000.
Samples down to 5 µm can be analyzed directly and non-destructively with 1064
nm excitation with the RAMANSCOPE FT-Raman
microscope. Since the actual measurement is performed in the NIR region,
FT-Raman microscopy provides better spatial resolution limits than FT-IR
microscopy. In addition, FT-Raman is an excellent choice when analyzing samples with
color such as fibers or paint. Bruker
Optics now offers an 'affordable' dispersive Raman
microscope, SENTERRA, suitable for forensic applications.
In addition, Bruker Optics offers comprehensive reference libraries for
quick and accurate identification of unknown substances.
- State-of-the-art Infrared and Raman microanalysis products for drug and
trace analysis.
- Fast and accurate analysis of forensic evidence.
- Proprietary spectral libraries for accurate identification.
- Validated and easy to use software.
