Introduction
Hecus X-Ray Systems, founded in 1992, is traditionally specialized on innovative system solutions for X-Ray nanostructure analytics. The strong focus on small-angle X-ray methods - the Otto-Kratky heritage - serves a wide community of researchers and engineers, who need SAXS and related techniques as practical and reliable tools in their challenging laboratory practice, and who want to use the techniques routinely.
What is SAXS/SWAXS?
Small- and Wide-Angle X-ray Scattering (S/WAXS) are non-invasive analytical techniques to investigate the structure of non-crystalline or partly crystalline materials. Both the supra- or macromolecular domain as well as the interatomic distances in small molecules or crystals are investigated.
Fields of Application:
- Polymers
- Liquid Crystals
- Powders & Cream Formulations
- Biopolymers
- Biomaterials
- Catalysts
- Nanomaterials
- Coatings & Films
System 3
System3 is a modular camera system that can be operated in both, line- and pointcollimation mode on conventional sealed-tube or rotating-anode generators.
For measurements on isotropic, unoriented samples such as dilute macromolecular solutions, nanopowders, polymers, or ceramic materials, line collimation x-ray optics are a viable and economical alternative to point-focussing optics. reliable software tools are available for the necessary corrections of the scattering curves.

Figure 1. System3 SWAXS.
This high-resolution System3 SWAXS was particularly designed for real-time, simultaneous small- and wide-angle measurements on powders, liquid crystals and polymeric nanomaterials. Two linear position sensitive detectors Hecus PSD 50M enable parallel operation via 2 independent aSapC cards, controlled via pgSSWaxS power and gas supply.

Figure 4. System3 SAXS Camera.
The Hecus System3 SAXS Camera is the basic system of the System3 product family. This slim and strong small-angle x-ray scattering camera is the classical workhorse for nanoanalytics and laboratory quality control. The highly economical and reliable instrument is especially suited for high-resolution studies on nanoparticle solutions or amorphous materials.
