Introduction
The chemical delivery system from Nanonics can deliver chemicals to the sample with the help of an online source. The patented nanopipette tip from Nanonics simultaneously acts as an AFM tip and a delivery system.

Key Features
The key features of the Nanonics Delivery System are:
- It is the first nanosystem capable of both adding and removing chemicals at the surface of a sample using a nanopipette
- Accurately placing chemicals to nanometer precision
- Online delivery of gas or liquid

Design
In comparison with other dip pen (DPN) nanochemistry or nano-lithography delivery systems, the Nanonics NanoPen can supply both liquids and gases to the sample on line with no need to remove the tip from the sample.
A microscope head is supplied by nanonics based on MultiView 1000 with a cantilevered nanopipette fountain pen attachment. Chemicals, in gas or liquid form, can be fed into the pipette through a silicon tube.
Applications
Nanolithography and metallic nanoetching are applications for this setup. It is possible to introduce an etchant to the sample and scan the same across it with nanometer accuracy using the company’s 3D FlatScanning technology. The nanopipette is used by the sample using standard contact-mode atomic force microscopy, and its integrated system makes it possible to observe the etching simultaneously through any optical microscope.
About Nanonics
‘Nanonics Imaging is the premier innovator of AFM and NSOM systems in the SPM market. Since its inception in 1997 and throughout the last fifteen years Nanonics have introduced to the SPM market new concepts in system functionality which in turn have supported the pursuit of new areas of scientific application. Nanonics contributions span from our revolutionary approach to NSOM imaging with cantilevered NSOM probes, to our introduction of dual tip/sample scanning AFM systems; and from our introduction of the first ever NSOM/AFM cryogenic systems to the first ever, Raman/AFM, Multiprobe AFM and SEM/AFM systems.
