Nanotechnology in Fuel Cells - New Product

Rare earth metal oxide nanomaterials are being used successfully in fuel cells particularly in electrodes and as low-temperature electrolytes in solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC).

NanoArc ceria and mixed rare earth metal oxides from Nanophase Technologies, are such materials that are now in commercial production. Nanophase has also developed technology to apply these and other nanoparticle coatings using standard high-velocity oxy-fuel (HVOF) thermal spray equipment.
