Introduction

Nanometer Titanium Dioxide

Nanoshel has developed Nano Titanium Dioxide (TiO2), which is divided into two crystal forms of Rutile and Anatase. This high purity material is white powder in appearance and has uniform granularity. The size of an average grain is less than 100mm.

Nanoshel’s Nano titanium dioxide exhibits good transparency, good chemical stability, and excellent absorbency to UVA and UVB. However, it does not have the properties of normal titanium dioxide. Nano titanium dioxide is soluble in hydrofluoric acid, sulfuric acid and alkali, and insoluble in organic acid, weak inorganic acid and water.

Nanometer Silicon Dioxide

Nanoshel Nano Silicon Oxide (Si02) has large specific surface area, small grain size, and defective and unsaturated surface; it is more alkyl with different bonding state. When this material is added to other materials, its property will change remarkably when compared to the normal micron-silicon oxide. As a result, it has wide prospects of application in various industrial fields.

Applications of Nano Titanium Dioxide

Nano Titanium Oxide is used in a wide range of applications, such as:

  • Astronautics industry
  • UV-resistant material, coating, chemical fiber, printing ink, plastics, food packing material
  • Self-cleaning glass, self-cleaning ceramics, photocatalyst, air purification, antibacterial material, chemical industry, sewage treatment
  • Cosmetics, beauty and whitening cream, sunscreen cream, natural white moisture protection cream, morning and night cream, vanishing cream, moistening refresher, skin protecting cream, skin milk, face washing milk, powder make-up
  • Coating for paper-making industry (used for improving the opacity and impressionability of paper)
  • Metallurgical industry

Nanoshel Zinc Oxide Nanopowder (ZnO) (Figure 2) has an appearance of white or pale yellow powder with a grain size ranging from 50 to 80nm. This material has large specific surface area and ultrafine grain size. It also has unique properties which cannot be compared with the ordinary products of zinc oxide. The other product types are divided according to the different surface treatment.

Nanometer Zirconium Oxide

Nano Zirconium Oxide (Zr02) has a white powder appearance. It is a tetragonal system at high temperature and monoclinic system at low temperature. It has high-temperature conductivity, good thermochemcial stability, high-temperature strength and ductility, and excellent mechanical, optical, electrical and thermological properties. The product is soluble in hydrofluoric acid and sulfuric acid.

Applications of Nano Zinc Oxide

Nano Zinc Oxide is used in a wide range of applications, such as:

  • Electronics, electronic packaging material, battery, ferrite material
  • Chemical industry, coating, pigment, sealant, high-grade organic glass (Figure 3), rubber, plastics, fiberglass reinforced plastics
  • Ceramics, nanoceramics, composite ceramic substrate
  • Antibacterial material
  • UV resistant material, cosmetic trade
  • Medicine and pesticide carrier, artificial teeth
  • Optical and lighting fixture
  • Building and water-proof materials
  • War industry (used in armoured composite material and stealthy coating)

Conclusion

The range of products can be used in various applications and the quantity to be added varies considerably from 0.5 to 8% at different places for its use. Generally, the quantity to be added is 2.5% for printing ink and coating, 3 to 8% for ultraviolet ray resistance, 3 to 5% for whitening and moisture preservation, and 1 to 3% for screening agent. When the place for its use is beyond the specified range, users must determine the quantity to be added via testing, or enlist the help of Nanoshel.
