Transparent Wound Dressing Uses Nanoparticles - New Product

Researchers from Singapore’s Institute of Bioengineering and Nanotechnology have developed a transparent wound dressing that utilises nanomaterials. The dressing is a thin film of polymer materials that allows air and moisture to move between the wound and the air but blocks the transmission of infection causing bacteria. As it is transparent, the dressing allows doctors to readily asses healing and if the dressing requires replacement. Drug delivery nanoparticles could also be added to the dressing.
