| A $600,000 a year, five-year grant has been awarded to The University of New Mexico to stimulate nanotechnology research. The grant comes as part of a $14 million-a-year nanotechnology research package given to UNM and 11 other universities by the National Science Foundation. The UNM has announced the money will be used to run its Center for High Technology Materials and to make the Center available for private and academic nanotechnology researchers. The other grant recipients are Harvard, Cornell, Stanford University, the University of Michigan, the University of Minnesota, the University of Washington, the University of California at Santa Barbara, the University of Texas at Austin, Georgia Institute of Technology, North Carolina State University, Pennsylvania State University and Howard University. |
