The H-845 features a parallel kinematic design with six degrees of freedom making it significantly more compact and stiff than serial-kinematic systems, higher dynamic range, no moved cables as well as reduced friction and higher reliability. It includes a large clear aperture and brushless DC motors with brakes.
The high-load Hexapod has a modular structure and makes use of a different set of modules for motor/drive unit and joint. It is possible to adapt the platforms to customer applications. This enables rapid implementation of special customer requirements.
The positioning system has a 6D vector motion controller for Hexapods, including two additional servo axes. It is arbitrary, stable pivot point and software-selectable. Positions are commanded in Cartesian coordinates.
The positioning system includes macro command language, open-source LabVIEW driver and libraries, helps determine the workspace, has a virtual machine for Hexapod emulation and also an optional software for avoiding collisions in restricted workspace. It find application in aviation, astronomy and aerospace.
