Nanoparticle Metrology System – Malvern Instruments Archimedes

Malvern Instruments offers a high-performance nanoparticle metrology system called Archimedes. The system uses the technique of resonant mass measurement to identify and count particles in the size range of 50 nm to 5 µm.

Archimedes is useful for measuring protein aggregates in buffer or formulation. Micro Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) technology sensor, the core of the system, enables ultra-sensitive, reproducible and reliable measurement of individual aggregates.

The system also provides information on sample volume, viscosity, concentration, density and polydispersity, and can easily differentiate between contaminating silicone oil droplets and proteinaceous particles.
