This spectrophotometer was designed based on the highly successful 73 series spectrophotometers and hence has all the features of the 73 series such as icon driven software and an improved navigation system for easy and intuitive usability. The spectrophotometer is specially designed for life sciences, hence has pre-programmed methods for the measurement of nucleic acid concentrations and protein assays as well as measurement modes for determining the purity of nucleic acids and optical density (OD) for cell harvesting.
It is pre-programmed with all the most common methods for protein analysis including Bradford, Lowry, Biuret, BCA and Direct UV methods. Cell growth is enabled by the OD measurement mode to be monitored by measuring absorbance at 600nm, 595nm or any other user selected wavelength. It is possible to easily identify any impurities by performing a purity scan across the entire wavelength range from 198 to 1000nm.
This spectrophotometer can be used with any of the accessories of the 73 series, these include the electronic Peltier for accurate temperature control, perfect for use in kinetics experiments and temperature critical reactions, 8 cell automatic turret, sipper pump and a micro-cuvette holder for more precious samples, amongst others.
This can also be used as a standard spectrophotometer with measurement modes for photometrics, concentration, multi-wavelength, spectrum scanning, quantitation and kinetics.
