The 16th biennial international Winter Conference will be held at the Sanibel
Harbour Resort & Spa (www.sanibel-resort.com)where more than 600 scientists
are expected and over 300 papers on modern plasma spectrochemistry will be presented.
Twelve symposia will feature applications of plasma spectrochemical tehcniques
and methods; elemental speciation, species sample preparation, and biological
imaging; excitation mechanisms and plasma phenomena; glow discharge atomic and
mass spectrometry; laser ablation and breakdown spectrometry; microwave plasma
atomic and mass spectrometry; plasma chromatographic detectors; plasma instrumentation,
microplasmas, automation and software innovations; sample introduction and transport
phenomena; sample preparation; spectrochemical cheometrics; spectroscopic standards
and reference materials, and stable isotope analysis and applications; inductively
coupled plasma atomic and mass spectrometry.
More than 50 preconference short courses will be offered January 2-4, and a
spectrosopy instrumentation exhibition will be open January 5-7, and a three-day
workshop on new plasma instrumentation will be held January 5-7. Six plenary
lectures and 24 invited speakers will highlight critical topics. A four-day
poster session is planned. Oral paper and poster titles and short abstracts
are requested by July 10, 2009.
