Cascade Filtration of Blood Plasma

This video produced by Merkator for RUSNANO shows the medical technology for cascade filtration of blood plasma. Plasma cascade filtration is a high-tech method of cleansing blood, which makes it possible to selectively remove only viruses and harmful proteins.

The new filters are differentiated by trackpore membrane with pore diameters of 20 nm to 100 nm. Bombarding the polymer with heavy metals (inert gases) results in formation of tracks. Using the surface-active agents, the tracks are treated with alkaline and ultraviolet radiation.
