Studying Mechanics of Soft Materials with AFM

This video presentation from Bruker discusses the benefits and applications of AFMs (atomic force microscopes) in determining the local elastic properties (including elastic modulus) of polystyrene and polyurethane polymers at the nanoscale.

AFM methods such as Macro DMA and Nanoindenter can be used along with Force-Volume and PeakForce QNM modes to measure the Young's modulus of soft materials.
