Oxford Instruments Plasma Technology (OIPT), leader in etch, deposition and growth processes and systems, today announced an order from Bridgelux, Inc., for a System800 Plus Batch PECVD and a System133 ICP 380 Batch Etch tool. Bridgelux is a leading manufacturer of energy saving light-emitting diode (LED)-based solid-state lighting solutions.

“We have been using OIPT etch and deposition tools for some time, and have successfully established our fabrication processes using these systems,” commented Dr. Frank Hu, Ph.D., Bridgelux Director of Fab Operations. “Bridgelux is focused on enabling mass adoption of LED-based solid-state lighting by reducing the cost of light in the general lighting market. Oxford Instruments has proven to be a reliable partner, delivering process performance and a high degree of flexibility with low cost of ownership to help us deliver a quality product with the high performance levels demanded by our customers.”

“At OIPT we are constantly working to progress and to be involved in the latest technologies and applications, and are delighted to have received this important order from Bridgelux and to be instrumental in their future success”, says Stuart Mitchell, VP Sales, OIPT USA.
