The New England Clean Energy Council has named QD
Vision, Inc., developer of nanotechnology-based products for lighting and
displays, the 2009 "Emerging Company of the Year." In an awards ceremony at
the council's Green Tie Gala Wednesday night at the JFK Library in Boston,
the Clean Energy Council recognized QD Vision for "exiting its development phase
with tremendous momentum, poised to build on that momentum with rapid sales
growth."
In 2009, QD Vision emerged as a clean-tech innovator and leader enabling a
new generation of highly efficient lighting and display products with significantly
smaller carbon footprints. The company's Quantum Light™ product
platform, built on quantum dot light emitting materials and devices, will deliver
unparalleled color and brightness and require significantly less power than
current-generation technologies for applications such as solid state lighting
and displays. A next-generation LED lamp from Nexxus Lighting, Inc. (NASDAQ:NEXS)
incorporating the Quantum Light™ optic from QD Vision will be commercially
available in Q1, 2010.
"QD Vision is honored to be selected as the Clean Energy Council's
Emerging Company of the Year, which entailed passing through a rigorous selection
process," said Dr. Dan Button, President and CEO of QD Vision. "Our
Quantum Light™ products break the performance trade off of current light
sources by uniquely reducing power consumption and total system costs, while
at the same time significantly improving light color quality and brightness.
