Applied Materials and Advanced
Micro-Fabrication Equipment, Inc. (AMEC) today jointly announced that they
have settled all litigation between the respective companies and that all outstanding
disputes have been resolved. Among other things, there was a dispute over the
ownership of certain patent families filed by AMEC.
In the settlement the parties agreed that those patent families will be jointly
owned. AMEC also made a payment to Applied Materials of an undisclosed amount,
and in light of that, the parties agreed to collaborate on projects in the future.
