An Indian Nanotechnology delegation visited the industry of the international
nanotech producer NT-MDT
Co. situated in suburban town of Moscow Zelenograd. The visit was initiated
by Rusnano corporation and became a part of the nanotechnological collaboration
between Russia and India.
Last time India expressed interest in high-developing nanotechnological studies
and projects in Russia. Department of Science & Technology, Government of
India and Rusnano are jointly working out collaboration between Russia and India
to facilitate development and commercialisation of technologies in the area
of nanotechnology. The Indian delegation came to Russia to listen to the presentations
of Rusnano and a few Russian industries to get a forestage of Russian nanotech
sector and draw up the guidance for further integration and investment.
A high level Indian delegation was led by Prof. G Sundararajan, Chairman, Nano
Application and Technology Advisory Group (NATAG) of Nanomission of Government
of India. It also included Prof. Shantikumar Vasudevan Nair (Amrita Centre for
Nano-sciences, Kochi), Prof. V Ramgopal Rao (Indian Institute of Technology,
Mumbai), Mr. Rajiv Kumar (International Division, Department of Science &
Technology, New Delhi), Mr. V. Sivakumar (SUN Group), Mr. SK Varshney (Embassy
of India, Moscow). As for Russian part, Mr. Boris Smirnov (General Counselor)
represented the Rusnano corporation and Mr. Victor Bykov, the Director General
of the NT-MDT Co. represented the Company.
During the visit the delegation got acquainted with NanoFab equipment and R&D
labs in NT-MDT. Moreover, the delegation visited the center of nanoeducation,
the Moscow Institute of Electronic Technology (Technical University), business-incubator
and the Special Economic Zone in Zelenograd. NT-MDT Co. organized the visit
to Zelenograd from beginning to end.
