Malvern to Exhibit Characterization Tools for Proteins, Peptides and Macromeolcules

Malvern Panalytical is exhibiting the latest in its comprehensive range of solutions for characterizing proteins, peptides and other macromolecules at the 24th Annual Symposium of The Protein Society, August 1-5, 2010 at the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego in San Diego, California.

These include the Zetasizer family, which employs dynamic and static light scattering to measure size and molecular weight, and the full range of Viscotek advanced size exclusion chromatography (SEC) systems and detectors for rapid, reliable characterization of both molecular weight and molecular structure.

The Malvern Panalytical Zetasizer.

Designed and optimized for maximum sensitivity and minimum sample volume, the Zetasizer Micro V supports improved understanding and management of many different biomolecule applications. These include: optimizing sample and storage conditions; verifying the quaternary structure of protein complexes; identifying thermal characteristics; and assessing protein solubility and sample purity.

Malvern Panalytical provides a wide choice of SEC solutions for chemists seeking either a complete system or additional detectors. The company's Viscotek advanced SEC systems include the powerful TDAmax, which can be configured with up to four detectors to deliver maximum information from a single experiment. Light scattering, viscosity, concentration, refractive index and UV detection are all available on the TDAmax. It delivers information on absolute molecular weight without correction or extrapolation, oligomeric composition and aggregation, protein size and density, conjugate composition and second virial coefficient. OmniSEC software not only offers standard methodologies for instrument control, analysis and customised reporting, it can also deal with specialised applications, such as the analysis of pegylated proteins.
