Taiwan-Based LED Manufacturer Places Order for Veeco’s MOCVD System

Veeco Instruments has declared that Taiwan-based Formosa Epitaxy (FOREPI) and its Chinese affiliate, Jiangsu Canyang, have placed a bulk order for Veeco’s MaxBright Multi-Reactor MOCVD System that produces high-brightness light-emitting diodes (HB LEDs).

President of Jiangsu Canyang, Frank Chien, stated that MaxBright’s space-efficient architecture, improved productivity and flexible process capabilities are highly impressive and it will be ideal for the company’s high-production fabrication facilities. The four-chamber configuration has been selected to obtain value for investment and best cost of ownership, he added.

According to William J. Miller, Executive Vice President of Veeco LED & Solar, the MaxBright system serves as the optimum solution for best ownership cost LED production by manufacturers such as FOREPI and its Chinese affliate Canyang. He added that Veeco is glad that their MaxBright system has been chosen by Taiwan’s LED manufacturer to enable them to expand their business in Taiwan as well as in China.
