QD Vision, a developer and producer of optical products based on nanotechnology, has moved to a new production facility situated in Lexington, Massachusetts to facilitate launch of new products in 2012.

The high-volume Lexington production facility for manufacture of quantum dot products is designed to address the increasing demand for quantum dot products for solid state lighting and displays.
QD Vision’s global headquarters as well as development and production facilities are located in the new building. The company has occupied the full building.
QD Vision is at present collaborating with a number of global electronics companies that are utilizing QD Vision’s Quantum Light optics for developing their new solid state lighting and display products. The Quantum Light platform allows step-change advances in present day solutions, including LEDs, LCDs and OLEDs. In solid state lighting products, QD Vision products enable LED lamps to efficiently deliver a warm, white, incandescent-like light. In displays, the company’s Quantum Light products help improve the energy efficiency of systems, and reduce operating and manufacturing costs, while simultaneously expanding the color gamut.
The light emitting materials, quantum dots are manufactured using an accurately controlled chemical synthesis process. The CEO of QD Vision, Jason Carlson, stated that the complex manufacturing process and the necessity of an educated and skilled workforce has made the relocation to Massachusetts an ideal choice. It would help the company address increase in customer demand as well as the business growth of the company.
