FRITSCH Milling and Sizing gets a visit from the "Regional Business Development" Subcommittee from the German Bundestag Economy and Technology Committee in Idar-Oberstein on October 29th, to discuss their experiences with Regional Business Development support in previous years.
The German Federal Committee for Economy and Technology regularly
deliberates on the annual frame work for the federal
government, with the common goal of "improvement of regional and
economic
structures", and analyses the results of the support.

The primary goal
of German regional politics in line with the common task is that
economically underdeveloped regions, through compensation of their
locational disadvantage, can keep up with the general economic
development and regional differences in development will be reduced. In
order to gain insight locally, the delegates foster the direct dialog
with the companies in areas with a locational disadvantage.
On October 29th, 2012, a delegation of the subcommittee for regional
economic politics lead by the Chairman Stephan Mayer (Member of the
German Bundestag, CDU/CSU) visited FRITSCH Milling and Sizing in
Idar-Oberstein.
Additional members and visitors were: Doris Barnett and
Andrea Wicklein (both Members of the German Bundestag, SPD), Manfred
Todtenhausen (Member of the German Bundestag, FDP), Dr. Tobias Lindner
(Member of the German Bundestag BÜNDNIS 90/DIE GRÜNEN), Wolfgang L.
Müller (Consultant SPD parliamentary group), Florian Hartmann (research
assistant) and Stefan Hötte (Government Director in the committee
office). As well as
Idar-Oberstein, the delegates also visited Kaiserslautern and
Birkenfeld whilst in Rhineland-Pfalz.
The goal of the visit was to gain a personal insight into the status
quo of the structural policy through discussions with representatives
of the
local economy, the Chamber of Commerce and Trade, Chamber of Crafts,
state and local politicians. As part of the tour, the delegates
visited several firms which profited from the
funds from the scheme in previous years.
A guided tour through the production facilities launched the visit
at FRITSCH Milling and Sizing. FRITSCH personnel then participated in a
discussion with the delegates, including Managing Director Robert
Fritsch, Technical Director Wolfgang Mutter, Department Manger
Accounting Annette Fried and Members of the Board Volksbank-Hunsrück
Nahe, Erik Gregori and Anja Becker.
The topic of the discussion was the experiences FRITSCH made with
sources of support in regard to regional business development from the
federal and state government. In the opinion of FRITSCH has the
bureaucratic effort increased, but Robert Fritsch explained that: "the
support so far has been welcomed since it made the decision to invest
much easier."
Therefore, the delegates explanations that according to EU criteria
as of January 2014 the old
Federal States will not be considered for the allocation of subsidies
were met with
astonishment.
