Research and
Markets, the leading source for international market research and market
data, has announced the addition of John Wiley and Sons Ltd's new report "Microfluidics
2009" to their offering.
The recent on-going development of micro technologies allows designing complex
microsystems devoted to transport, dosing, mixing, analysis, or even synthesis
of fluids. These applications are numerous and concern every industrial field,
from biotechnologies to aeronautics. Microfluidics is a young research area
relating to microsystems involving internal flows with characteristic dimensions
of one micrometer.
The goal of this book is to provide engineers and researchers the tools necessary
for modelling, experimenting, and simulating these microflows as a preliminary
step for designing and optimizing fluidic microsystems. The various consequences
of miniaturization on the hydrodynamics of gas, liquid or two-phase flows, as
well as associated heat transfer are analysed. The book is illustrated with
examples showing the diversity and the originality of fluidic microsystems.
