A sales and distribution firm, specializing in analysis instrumentation and nanoscale imaging, Nanounity has signed a contract with Topcon Positioning Systems (TPS) to market its Aquila Hybrid Scope microscope in Canada and the United States.

Aquila Hybrid Scope Microscope

The Aquila is a compact microscope that incorporates three different techniques such as scanning electron microscopy (SEM), optical microscopy, and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) in a single design which allows performing of microanalysis.

Nanounity’s Aquila is a complete system which can be plugged into a standard power outlet. There are several key features in this rapid, easy-to-operate device. It can be controlled completely by software and enables full navigation of the whole sample from macro to micro levels. It features 30x optical microscopy with motorized X, Y, tilt as well as rotatable stage. Apart from these, the advanced EDAX’ EDS detector combined with compact SEM which provides magnification up to 50,000x and the acceleration current fluctuations ranging from 1 to 20kV enable the users to carry out actual microanalysis.

The Aquila microscope is equipped with SEM, optical, and other superor functionalities and allow cost-effective microanalysis which generally involves more expense due to the need for SEMs. This hybrid scope microscope matches with the Nanounity’s family of stylus and optical profilometers, conventional SEM, and atomic force microscopes. The company provides a complete suite of analytical and imaging solutions for all applications, different user levels and almost all budget ranges.
