Enduro Extends License Term for Integran’s Nanocrystalline Cobalt Electroplating Process

PTC Alliance’s subsidiary, Enduro Industries has extended its license exclusivity term for Nanovate CoP, a nanocrystalline cobalt electroplating process developed by Integran Technologies, in the US market for fluid power by five more years.

Enduro Industries, which produces hard chrome steel tubes and bars for use in the fluid power industry, has supplied a wear and corrosion resistant Nano-Cobalt substitute along with its traditional engineered hard chrome (EHC) product lines such as Chromrod Extreme and Chromerod.

Nanovate CoP was originally developed by Integran Technologies as a replacement to hard chrome electroplating. The Environmental Security Technology Certification Program, the U.S. Department of Defense Strategic Environmental Research and Defense Program, Sustainable Development Technology Canada, the Strategic Aerospace and Defense Initiative program, and Industry Canada’s Technology Partnership Canada program funded the development.

The President and Chief Executive Officer, Integran Technologies stated that the exclusivity term extension with Enduro Industries is a logical development of the mutually valuable partnership between the two companies and corroborates Enduro Industries’ commercial and technical accomplishments in its major markets. Moreover, this license extension will also cover Integran Technologies’ other cobalt-based Nanovate coatings and a novel field repair process.

Andrew Moline, Vice President of Operations at Enduro Industries, commented that through this license extension, the company can now upgrade its production capability and enter into other segments of its major markets. The Nano-Cobalt coating technique delivers substantially better deposition rates than EHC coatings, resulting in meaningful improvement in fatigue life value and corrosion resistance. The company’s Nano-Cobalt coatings help it to enter into new applications and serve better for some of the most difficult fluid power environments.
