Graphene Laboratories Expand Production Facilities

Graphene Laboratories, Inc. has made several new developments this summer, demonstrating their continued success in the commercialization of graphene materials. Most notably, their production capabilities are up with expanded facilities and staff, and they have exhibited at many international seminars and events.

Over the past couple of months, the company has added additional space in the Stony Brook Incubator in Calverton, New York. The space is being used to host a new Chemical Vapor Deposition furnace for graphene growth. With the CVD furnace, Graphene Laboratories are able to commit more time and energy to in-house solutions and research. The new space will also allow them to ramp up production; they now have increased room to store materials for sale on the Graphene Supermarket and to more quickly process, package, and ship materials.

Graphene Laboratories has also increased production capabilities by adding new staff, namely two research scientists, Dr. Gang Liu and Neema Rawat, M.S. In addition to the newest researchers, the team has four talented interns, working in research and information technology.

CEO of Graphene Laboratories, Dr. Elena Polyakova, has presented at several conferences in recent months, including Nanotech 2012 and the MRS Spring Meeting. Chief Technology Officer Dr. Daniel Stolyarov has also presented at the 9th International Conference on Nanosciences & Nanotechnologies in Greece. In August, Dr. Polyakova is set to speak at the XXI International Materials Research Congress in Cancun, Mexico; her talk will be on the commercialization of graphene materials.

Last month, Dr. Polyakova and Dr. Stolyarov participated in round two of the Cleantech Open 2012 competition. The Cleantech Open is a competition in which companies advancing clean technology compete for prizes and learn valuable lessons on growing their companies at the Cleantech events. The program has proven invaluable, and Graphene Laboratories are looking forward to future participation in Cleantech Open events.
