New Report Discusses Applications of Lasers in Processing and Characterization of Nanomaterials

Research and Markets has included a new book titled ‘Nanomaterials’ from John Wiley and Sons, to its catalogue.

This book covers the basics to the latest advancements in the production, processing and characterization of nanomaterials utilizing lasers in detail. It is segmented into two parts. The first part titled ‘Applications of Lasers in Nanomaterials Processing’ starts with the introduction of concepts of nanomaterials, nanoarchitectures, lasers, and laser-material interplay in the first two chapters. Further chapters describe the production of different nanomaterials in liquids, gas and vacuum.

The second part titled ‘Lasers in the Characterization of Nanomaterials’ covers a variety of nanomaterial characterization methods using lasers, which include laser spectroscopy, light dynamic scattering, photoluminescence spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy and other extraordinary techniques such as laser-induced thermal pulses, laser ultrasound, laser acoustic, and photo acoustic.

Each chapter starts with an introduction and covers the fundamental approaches, experimental setups, and requirements of the specific technique on various parameters, with adequate theory and modeling to better know the principles of the methods.

Key topics covered in the first part include Plasma Processing; Synthesis of Nanoarchitectures by Laser Processing in Vacuum and Gas Phases; Nanostructured Materials by Laser Vaporization Controlled Condensation (LVCC) Approach; Synthesis of Carbon Nanostructured Materials by Pulsed Laser Ablation in Furnace; Synthesis of Nanomaterials in Liquid Media; Laser Pyrolysis; and Laser Induced Nanostructuring and Nanopatterning.

Key topics covered in the second part include Raman Spectroscopy; Light Dynamic Scattering (LDS); An Approach to Particle Size Determination in Solution; Photoluminescence Spectroscopy :Exploration of nanomaterial optical properties and applications; Laser Acoustic, Photo Acoustic, Thermal Cleansing and Laser Ultrasonic Characterization of Materials; Laser Spectroscopy at the Nanoscale; Ultrafast Spectroscopy in Materials Characterization; Non-linear Optical Characterization of Nanomaterials; and Electrical Characterizations of Thin Films and Nanostructured Materials with Laser Induced Thermal Pulses.
