Nanoparticle Technology Handbook's Extended and Updated Second Edition Published

A new updated and expanded second edition of the Nanoparticle Technology Handbook, published by Elsevier, is now available. This second edition includes sixteen new chapters providing a much broader reference scope than the previous edition and contains contributions from over 140 experts in nanotechnology and/or particle technology.

The book includes not only the theory behind nanoparticles but also sixty separate practical applications of nanotechnology across a range of fields of applications such as advanced ceramics, batteries, functional paint and inks, drug delivery systems and biotechnology. It examines future possibilities and new innovations and contains important knowledge on nanoparticle characterisation and the effect of nanoparticles on the environment and on humans.

With information on the unique properties of the nanoparticles and the nanostructures made by nanoparticles the Nanoparticle Technology Handbook is a valuable reference source for scientists and engineers working directly with fine particles and materials.

The book is edited by Masuo Hosokawa, President of Hosokawa Micron Corporation; Kiyoshi Nogi, Professor and Director, Joining and Welding Research Institute at Osaka University; Makio Naito, Professor, Joining and Welding Research Institute at Osaka University and Toyokazu, General Manager, Intellectual Property and Academic Information Division at Hosokawa Micron Corporation.
