University of Delaware Announces Invited Speakers for Spring Lecture Series

The University of Delaware Department of Materials Science and Engineering has announced invited speakers for its spring lecture series.

A myriad of topics will be covered in the lecture, to be held at 10 a.m., Wednesdays, in 219 Brown Lab.

Lectures are scheduled as follows:

Feb. 27: Lan Yang, associate professor of electrical and systems engineering, Washington University, St. Louis, "On-chip Whispering-Gallery-Mode Micro-Resonators for Lasing and Single Nanoparticle Sensing."

March 6: Homan Yuen, vice president research and development, co-founder, Solar Junction Corp., San Jose, Calif., “Advanced Cell Technologies for Concentrated Photovoltaics."

March 27: Yao Lin, assistant professor of polymer program, Institute of Materials Science, University of Connecticut, Storrs, Conn., "Supramolecular Polymerizations: Incorporating Cooperatives into Macromolecule and Macromolecular Assemblies."

April 10: Theresa Mayer, associate director of the Penn State University Materials Research Institute, University Park, Pa., "Adding New Capabilities to Silicon CMOS Via Deterministic Assembly."
