Naturally Splendid Enterprises (the "Company") is pleased to announce they have entered into a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) with Calico Food Ingredients Ltd. ("Calico") to test the plant-based Omega products H2Omega™ and HempOmega™ created by Boreal Technologies Inc. (formerly Canadian Medical Hemp Inc.).
HempOmega™ and H2Omega™ are proprietary, patent pending, powder and aqueous Omega products that utilize nano-encapsulation for increased nutritional benefits. These proprietary Omega products have been developed to deliver a more targeted and sustained release of Omega oils into the bloodstream when compared to existing Omega oil products. Preliminary testing has confirmed that these products have increased bioavailability and sustainability as well as a longer shelf life.
Calico Food Ingredients Ltd. is a leading distributor of quality food ingredients to the Canadian Food and Beverage manufacturing industries. Calico's range of vitamin and mineral premixes is specifically formulated to ensure easy, accurate addition of fat soluble vitamins and colors for a wide variety of consumer food products. Calico supplies a full range of food color products as well as a range of specialty ingredients including flavors, vitamin premixes, and natural preservatives sourced from suppliers from around the globe.
Calico will begin testing and evaluating H2Omega™ and HempOmega™ to best determine the markets and potential clients for these Omega products. Evaluation of these Omega products will begin in mid-September 2013 in order to evaluate H2Omega™ and HempOmega™ for use with Calico's Nutritional Pre-mixes and Margarine Pre-mix food ingredients. Calico offers a wide variety of vitamins and minerals to the food and nutritional markets and believes there is an excellent opportunity to offer the advantages of H2Omega™ and HempOmega™ to their customers looking for an alternative Omega source.
Naturally Splendid CEO, Craig Goodwin, states, "This is a significant company milestone for Naturally Splendid and our exclusive hemp based Omega products.
