LiqTech International, Inc. (“LiqTech”) is pleased to announce that it has received an additional purchase order from RIPE (Huzhou), a Chinese membrane system integrator. The purchase order was the third placed by RIPE in 2013 – significant order sizes of 256 sq. meters, 256 sq. meters and latest 480 sq. meters of membrane product. The three membrane systems ordered were for the same end-user (one of the largest dairy producers in the world) to treat agriculture wastewater.
RIPE, a Chinese engineering firm located in Huzhou, has been developing SiC membrane solutions for Oil & Gas and industrial applications in China since 2011.
Mr Guanghui Li, Managing Director of RIPE remarked, “Our company has been working closely with LiqTech to develop membrane solutions, and 2013 seems to be the year for the commercial breakthrough. RIPE offers a unique membrane solution for the end-user to treat challenging wastewater, due to our system design in combination with the robustness and high performance of LiqTech SiC membranes. We are very happy with LiqTech’s efforts and expect to place more orders this year.”
Mr. Finn Helmer, LiqTech CEO, remarked, “RIPE has successfully solved a general wastewater problem for the dairy industry and the potential reaches globally. We are pleased to have our SiC membranes accepted in a new market, and we expect more revenue from this application in 2013. In addition, the third order represents a milestone to our company – at 60 pieces of our industrial scale membrane elements it is the biggest order for a single installation.”
Mr. Helmer added, “China's demand for dairy products has grown at a fast pace in the past decade. In the next five years, both production and demand will continue to grow. The increasing production will generate more wastewater to be treated and require membrane technology to re-use the wastewater in areas with water shortages. LiqTech offers membrane products with superior performance to address both demands, and follow-up orders like this third order we announced today shows the potential for additional orders within the same application.”
