Hitachi High-Technologies Corporation (Hitachi High-Tech, TSE:8036) has been recognized as one of 8 companies receiving Intel Corporation’s prestigious Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement (SCQI) award for their performance in 2013.

This supplier has demonstrated exceptional performance to goals and extraordinary, industry-leading commitment across all critical focus areas on which they are measured: quality, cost, availability, technology, customer service, labor and ethics systems and environmental sustainability. This award is Intel’s highest honor for its suppliers, acknowledging truly world-class performance. Hitachi High-Tech provided dry etching, ashing, metrology and advanced packaging systems, deemed essential to Intel’s success.

“Hitachi High-Tech considers it a great honor to be awarded Intel’s SCQI award for 2013 and is proud to celebrate 15 consecutive years of PQS/SCQI recognition," said Katsutaka Kimura, Vice President and Executive Officer, General Manager, Electronics Device Systems Business Group, Hitachi High-Tech. "Our business relationship with Intel now spans more than a quarter-century of successful cooperation and teamwork.  We continue to work diligently in contributing to Intel’s development and mass-production needs by focusing on responsiveness, technology development and exceptional product quality.  Now, as always, the semiconductor market and industry see dramatic changes with challenges driven by new items such as “Ubiquitous computing” and the “Internet of Things”. Hitachi High-Tech continues to invest aggressively in Technology and Support, providing our customers responsive solutions at a level of velocity that allows us to intersect aggressive technology roadmaps and production ramps.”

“Intel is pleased to present Hitachi High-Tech with the Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement Award for 2013,” said David Bloss, Director of Intel’s Fab Capital Equipment Development group. “The 2014 SCQI Award highlights the 20th year of Hitachi High-Tech contributions as a valued supplier to Intel. Hitachi High-Tech continues to provide quality products and invest in outstanding process technology support as the challenges increase for technology development and execution of the Intel roadmap. We look forward to continued success in 2014 and beyond.”

The SCQI award is part of Intel’s Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement program, which encourages Intel’s key suppliers to strive for excellence and continuous improvement. To qualify for SCQI, suppliers must score at least 95 percent on a report card that assesses performance and ability to meet cost, quality, availability, technology, environmental, social and governance goals. Suppliers must also achieve 90 percent or greater on a challenging improvement plan and demonstrate solid quality and business systems.
