Based in Tunbridge Wells, just outside London and 20 miles from London Gatwick Airport, Ian Holton started Acutance Scientific Ltd in January 2011.
Ian previously ran a SEM design and manufacture company in Cambridge, and has over 30 years experience in design and development of electron spectroscopy, xray and electron source instrumentation in the VG group (bought out by Thermo) and also Omicron (now part of Oxford Instruments), mostly designing, developing, running R&D and product management. Roles have included Managing Director, Director of Development in different nanotech instrument companies, Production Manager in different companies, R&D Physicist/Engineer in different nanotech instrument companies. The aim is to understand your technical challenge and to offer innovative and effective solutions, including both product and consultancy.
Acutance Scientific is especially keen on providing either highly innovative or uniquely useful instruments in Electron Microscopy/Electron Probe Microanalysis, high-end SIMS and metrology.
