Company Background
Nanomics Biosystems is a spin-off company commercialising successful nanotechnology research at the University of Queensland. This novel platform technology allows "colloidal bar-coding", a method for bar-coding libraries of tiny ceramic beads with labels to create unique optical signatures and hence the ability to track individual chemicals attached to their surfaces. This is highly useful for activities including DNA sequencing, drug discovery, comparative genomics and gene expression analysis.
