Hyper-Therm High-Temperature Composites, Inc. is a world leading producer of state-of-the-art high-temperature refractory composite materials, engineered coatings and thermostructural components using Patented chemical vapor infiltration and deposition (CVI/CVD) process technology. Since 1992, Hyper-Therm HTC has been active in the research and development of advanced tactical and space-based chemical rocket propulsion components for the U.S. Government and Commercial Aerospace Industry. From small 5-pound thrust attitude control and divert thrusters to over 5000-pound upper stage and orbit insertion thrust chambers, Hyper-Therm HTC has designed and manufactured a variety of high-performance C/PyC, C/SiC and SiC/SiC composite propulsion components to meet the most demanding mission cycle requirements.
Other applications under development include oxidation-inhibited SiC composite hypersonic airframe and re-entry thermal structures; dimensionally-stable spacecraft and optical bench precision mounting platforms; ultralightweight silicon laser mirror substrates; reticulated open-cell ceramic and refractory metal foam diffuser elements for liquid rocket propellant injectors, hot gas filters and catalyst supports; high-strength/high-hardness nanolayered tungsten-tungsten carbide composites for ballistic penetrators and micro-rotary cutting tools; free-standing refractory metal (Nb, Ta, W, and Re) components for nuclear, medical and materials research applications; and wafer substrate functional coatings for micro-electromechanical (MEMS) heat-engine devices.
