About SouthWest NanoTechnologies

CG300 single wall carbon nanotubes, fabricated using the patented CoMoCAT® process, is developed for applications that require a highly conductive single wall product.

Unique Characteristics

The unique features of CG300 are:

  • High relative purity
  • High carbon content – low catalyst residue
  • High conductivity

Typical Properties

The typical properties of CG300 are provided in the table below:

Table 1. Properties of CG300 SWCNTs

Parameter Value Method
Appearance and Form Freeze Dried Black powder
Bulk Density (Tapped) 0.128 g cm-3
Moisture Content <5% By weight (TGA)
Carbon Content1 > 95% TGA
Residual Mass2 ≤ 5% TGA
Relative Purity3 > 95% TGA
Average Diameter 0.84 nm NIRF
Raman Quality parameter (Q)4 ≥ 0.95 Raman
Median Tube Length (nm) TBD AFM
Specific Surface Area TBD BET
Sheet Resistance at 85% Transparency < 600 Ω/D Meyer Rod Coating

1 Carbon Content is determined as the Total Weight - the Residual Mass from TGA (uncorrected for oxidation of the metals) - Moisture Content
2 Uncorrected for oxidation of metals
3 Relative Purity is the percentage of carbon that is in the form of SWCNT.
4 The Raman Quality parameter is defined as:

D = maximum height of D band
G = maximum height of G band
B = minimum value between D and G

About SouthWest NanoTechnologies

SouthWest NanoTechnologies Inc. (SWeNT) produces carbon nanotubes using the patented CoMoCAT® catalytic method in fluidized bed reactors. This results in selective synthesis of single-wall carbon nanotubes and remarkable control of diameter, chirality and purity.

Single-wall carbon nanotubes exhibit unique properties due to their unusual structure. They consist of a hollow cylinder of carbon ~ 1nm in diameter, up to 1,000 times as long as it is wide. This structure has remarkable optical and electronic properties, tremendous strength and flexibility, and high thermal and chemical stability. As a result, carbon nanotubes are expected to have dramatic impact on several industries, including displays, electronics, health care and composites.

SWeNT was founded in April 2001 to commercialize nanotube technology developed by Professor Daniel Resasco at the University of Oklahoma. The CoMoCAT® brand is widely recognized for quality and scalability.
