The FT-G Microgripper series is built to handle objects ranging from 0.001 mm to 0.1 mm. The primary openings of the gripper arms are 30 μm, 60 μm, and 100 μm. Common applications include micro-assembly tasks (pick-and-place) and sample preparation. It is possible to control the gripper opening with nanometer precision, such that the gripper arms are completely closed upon applying the highest actuation voltage. As a result of the electrostatic actuation principle, the gripper arms do not heat up.
The FT-G102 and the FT-G32 models comprise an integrated force sensor for closed-loop control of the gripping force. This enables the handling of delicate samples, the detection of object size, the detection of (un)successful gripping, and the measurement of the mechanical properties of the sample to be picked-up.
