ISMI Manufacturing Week 2010 Focuses on New Strategies for Fab Productivity and Advanced Equipment/Process Controls

ISMI Manufacturing Week, the semiconductor industry's only conference on productivity and cost-saving solutions that can be quickly inserted into today's fabs, will take place Oct. 31-Nov. 4 at the Renaissance Hotel in Austin, TX.

For the first time this year Manufacturing Week includes the ISMI AEC/APC Symposium North America, which brings together chip-makers and suppliers to further enhance automated decision-making through advanced equipment control and advanced process control (AEC/APC).

ISMI Manufacturing Week will also feature the seventh annual ISMI Symposium on Manufacturing Effectiveness, widely considered to be the industry's most informative public exposition of manufacturing data, methods, and productivity boosters.

Short courses and workshops on critical fab issues will precede both symposia.

“Chip-makers and suppliers from around the world have made ISMI Manufacturing Week their destination for the best information on running today's fabs and planning tomorrow's,” said Scott Kramer, SEMATECH's vice president of Manufacturing Technology. “There's no other conference in the industry that offers such a wide spectrum of manufacturing topics, data, discussion, networking and education.”

“Increase productivity. Reduce costs. Stay ahead.” is the theme for this year's ISMI Manufacturing Week, which will highlight:

  • AEC/APC sessions on data management and process control, and equipment and process fault detection, classification and control
  • An interactive environment, safety and health (ESH) session, during which the audience will be asked to identify and rank critical issues that will then be analyzed by an expert panel of industry leaders
  • Updates on ISMI's Next Generation Factory and 450 mm Wafer Transition programs
  • Expanded poster sessions featuring the work of students and industry professionals
  • Papers offering “golden nuggets” of productivity and cost-cutting methods that can be applied readily to fabs of various sizes

ISMI Manufacturing Week, which is part of the SEMATECH Knowledge Series, attracts hundreds of semiconductor technologists and suppliers. More information on this year's events can be found at http://ismi.sematech.org/ismisymposium.
