UNCD Ultrananocrystalline Diamond from ADT Passes USP Class VI Compliance Tests

Advanced Diamond Technologies (ADT) announces that its UNCD® brand of ultrananocrystalline diamond thin film material is USP Class VI compliant.

Tests were conducted successfully in accordance with the procedures described in the United States Pharmacopoeia (<88> Biological Reactivity tests, In Vivo, USP 31-NF 26). USP standards are internationally accepted as benchmarks for material compatibility in biomedical and pharmaceutical applications.

Customers considering UNCD for applications where USP Class VI compliance is required now can be comfortable knowing that UNCD is the right solution for them. Applications that require USP Class VI compliance include implantable devices, implements that come into contact with food products, pharmaceutical grade chemicals, and biotech products.

“We have previously demonstrated that our diamond can provide significant value to applications in these markets. Now that we have independent validation showing that our customers can rely on UNCD’s biocompatibility, we are looking forward to increased adoption and new business opportunities for our products in 2011,” said Neil Kane, ADT’s president.
