GLOBALFOUNDRIES to Use Infinisim’s RASER to Validate On-Chip Variation Models

Infinisim has announced the selection of its major verification product RASER by GLOBALFOUNDRIES to validate their on-chip-variation (OCV) models developed from its 28-nm technology qualification vehicles (TQV).

The real-time adaptive simulation-based RASER assures complete SPICE accurate results for numerous transistor designs. By providing SPICE precision on large-scale circuits designers can operate full Monte Carlo on their complete clock and crucial path netlists to measure the chip’s statistical variation. The integration of SPICE accuracy in the verification flow and timing design at 28 nm, where statistical variation is up to 30%, allows designers to attain closer timing margins and develop ultra performance designs.

The President for Infinisim, Samia Rashid commented that the company is happy about the adoption of RASER by GLOBALFOUNDRIES in its TQV design flow. As designs shift to 28 nm, the negativity of static timing analysis has to be improved with the high accuracy of RASER. The collaboration with GLOBALFOUNDRIES illustrates the company’s dedication in meeting the verification and design challenges of 28 nm and above, she added.

According to Andy Brotman, who serves as GLOBALFOUNDRIES’ Vice President of Design Infrastructure, precise OCV models allow its customers to decrease guard banding and understand the advantages in terms of both performance and space due to the shifting to the 28-nm technology node. Infinisim's technology will enable the company to verify their OCV models, assisting its customers to optimize their design performance.
