Students to Work on Nanotechnology Research Projects for CNSE

Twenty-four outstanding undergraduate students, belonging to various regions such as Hudson Valley, the Capital Region, the Finger Lakes and Mohawk Valley, have been chosen to take part in the summer internship program to be held at the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering (CNSE) of the University at Albany this summer. During the program, students will have the opportunity to explore the nanotechnology field.

The hands-on program, which started this week and ends on August 12th , allows students to take part in innovative nanotechnology research projects as a means to provide them with a solid foundation for pursing careers in nanoengineering, nanoscience, nanotechnology, and nanobioscience industry. Over 130 students from various academic areas such as chemical, physical, computer sciences, biological, engineering, and mathematics applied to take part in this summer internship program.

According to Dr. Alain E. Kaloyeros, CEO of CNSE and Senior VP, the outstanding candidates chosen for the prestigious Summer Internship Program at the University at Albany will contribute to the innovation economy of the 21st century. He also added that the students will perform research in leading-edge technologies, receive pioneering education and interact with the international corporate partners of CNSE. This will enable CNSE to develop the workforce essential for the growth of the nanotechnology industry of New York.
