The fifth International Conference on Nano Science and Technology (ICONSAT) will be conducted in India at Hotel Taj Krishna, Hyderabad from January 20-23, 2012.
The Government of India’s Department of Science and Technology (DST) is the sponsor and International Advanced Research Centre for Powder Metallurgy and New Materials (ARCI) is the organiser of this event, which is held once in every two years. Registrations for the conference will be closed by November 30, 2011.
The main focus of this event is to study the theory and collection of geospatial data and its applications. It also aims to promote information exchange and innovations in the area of nanoscience, particularly nanotechnology. In recent times, India has seen a surge in research based on nanotechnology due to the launch of the Nano Mission by DST during May 2007. The ARCI is an independent research and development centre of DST with a primary focus on developing processes and materials for niche markets, demonstrating technologies at the prototype level and transferring the technology to the Indian industry. The centre has also collaborated with various universities and laboratories to carry out basic research in nanotechnology and has created facilities, which will contribute to its development in India. The ICONSAT for 2012 will aim to encourage youngsters to take up Masters and PhD degrees in nanoscience and will also foster young researchers in the field.
