NanoBCA, COIN to Host Nanotech Commercialization Conference in Durham, NC

Global technology leaders will gather in North Carolina to attend the Nanotech Commercialization Conference that will be held from April 4 to 5, 2012.

The NanoBusiness Commercialization Association (NanoBCA), the Center of Innovation for Nanobiotechnology (COIN) and the North Carolina Office of Science & Technology will jointly host the Nanotech Commercialization Conference in Research Triangle, Durham.

The US has invested $24 billion in nanotechnology since the passage of the 21st Century Nanotechnology R&D Act. The science of nanotechnology is creating numerous new start-ups, supporting almost every industry across the world and bringing new innovations to market. Investor, academic, start-up and corporate leaders will attend the nanotechnology event.

Various topics will be discussed during the sessions at the Nanotech Commercialization Conference. The topics will include Achieving Commercialization Success: How to Sell Nano Products to Large Companies; Cybersecurity Breakout Session; Nano Energy Solutions: Perspectives on Solar, Wind and Batteries; Nanomanufacturing Panel; Nanotechnology Industrial Espionage – How to Protect Your Company; Risk vs. Value: Impact of Nanotechnology Environmental, Health, Safety (EHS) on Business Decisions; and the Current State of Investing in the Nanotechnology Community.

The nanotechnology event will feature a list of keynote speakers, including David F. Williams of Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine; Douglas W. Jamison from Harris & Harris Group; Frank M. Torti from Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center; James M. Hussey of NanoInk; Jim Phillips of NanoMech; Richard Ridgley from the National Reconnaissance Office; Sally Tinkle from NNCO; Scott Livingston of Livingston Securities; and Scott Rickert from NanoFilm.

The conference will be held in the Bay 7 Meeting and Event Facility situated at the American Tobacco Campus in Durham.
