A Complete Book on Nanocomposites

Research and Markets has included a new book titled ‘Nanocomposites: Vol 2 of the American Society of Composites Series’ to its catalogue.

The comprehensive book comprises previously unpublished and updated research papers that describe the processes of improving the properties and performance of composites using nanomaterials.

The bound edition covers all stages of nanocomposite production, including design and multi-level modeling, processing and testing. It concentrates on issues of interfacial bonding and dispersion and use of nanoparticles to improve the electrical properties of composites.

The book is the second volume in the American Society for Composites Series on Advances in Composite Materials. Michael Hyer from the Virginia Tech is the general editor of the book. This volume covers contributions on nanocomposites. Others in the series are revised versions of ASC presentations delivered during the last nine years and as of now available only in the CD-ROM format.

The book provides reinforcing technologies of composites using graphene, nanofibers and nanotubes, new data on interfacial bonding, alignment and dispersion, and techniques for improving strength and conductivity.

Kep topics discussed in the report include polymer/carbon nanotube nanocomposite fibers: process-morphology-property relationships; polymer/carbon nanotube composites: challenges and opportunities; characterization of carbon nanofiber reinforced nanocomposites; conductive nanocomposites based on mass produced carbon nanotubes and epoxy resin; multifunctional polymer and aligned carbon nanotube nanocomposites; polymers and advanced polymer-matrix composites reinforced with aligned carbon nanotubes; coarse grain simulation of single-walled carbon nanotube pmma nanocomposites; synthesis and characterization of multifunctional carbon nanotube buckypaper/liquid crystalline polymer composites; and development, characterization and manufacturing of nanocomposites and bionanocomposites for transportation industry.
