LamdaGen, Biodico Partner to Improve Clean Energy Production Using Nanotechnology

LamdaGen, a nanotechnology platform company providing functional nanomaterials for catalytic applications in energy and cleantech and analytical systems and sensors for protein sciences and diagnostics, and Biodico, an owner and operator of distributed energy systems and sustainable biorefineries, have entered into a partnership.

The collaboration will enable the integration of LamdaGen's nano-based Meta-Catalytic Surface (MCS) technology into Biodico's research and development programs for biochemicals, combined heat and power, and biomass-based diesel. It will also allow the integration of LamdaGen’s additional technologies into Biodico's current research and development programs.

Under its research and development programs, Biodico developed the ground-breaking ARIES (Automated Real-time, Remote, Integrated Energy System) technology for the US Navy under the sponsorship of a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA), which was officially started on May 1, 2002. Biodico is situated at the National Environment Technology Test Site on Naval Base Ventura County, California.

LamdaGen’s Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Randy Storer stated that the company is happy to partner with Biodico for using MCS nanotechnology in the energy sector. The company produces highly catalytic functional nanomaterials in continuous metallic thin film forms, which can be produced at a lower cost and customized for specific bio-energy-related applications.

Biodico’s Founder and President, Russ Teall informed that the company is looking forward to its partnership with LamdaGen and the opportunities that MCS technology will extend towards the improvement of clean energy production for biofuels and combined heat and power. Teall further said that the ongoing research and development under the auspices of the California Energy Commission at its biorefinery located on Naval Base Ventura must be integrated well with LamdaGen's technologies.
